amnplify Interviews Waylon Reavis

How did you all find each other and decide to share your musical talents as a group?
JP,Tommy and myself grew up together in a small town called Wilkesboro North Carolina. We’ve been playing in bands since we were kids and I’ve always known each other and played music together. Morgan our drummer is my stepson and he’s the baby of the group but he is an amazing drummer.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I really don’t think that we have a sound per se. I feel like A Killer’s Confession is more of a mood it depends on the day on what you’re going to get. Everyone can relate to having different moods in life and I think that’s what brings people to us. I’ve always said that A Killer’s Confession is based on emotions.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Tool musically inspires me daily. I saw them on their last tour before COVID-19 happened and was just amazed with the production value and the sound quality that they had produced. They make it look so effortless and it’s amazing to watch artist that are able to do that live and in the studio.

Your new single REMEMBER has just been released. Describe its origin and evolution.
Sahaj Ticotin and myself wrote the song Remember back in early 2020. Sahaj has produced many of the A Killer’s Confession songs And we have reached a point where we understand each other and are trying to develop the sound that we were after. Remember has a swagger and a southern feel and being that I have a very thick southern accent Sahaj thought it was fitting that this should be the way that this song went.

Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
We have a full album and Remember is just the start. Every cover for the songs has a puzzle piece and will be released throughout 2021.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
We are scheduled to play the Metal in the mountains Festival In West Virginia and metal fest In Orlando for Florida. Everything is slow right now and just depending on how everything turns out with vaccines and if the world opens back up.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Rammstein. Just so I could see how they do their show and all the work that goes into it to make it so amazing.

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
Not really. As long as I can continue doing what I do in clubs or anywhere Considering the situation we’re in right now I will be happy.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
The best thing about playing live shows is when the entire audience sings the lyrics back to you, there is no greater compliment when that happens. As for a career Haula that would be when I was on Mayham 2014 with Mushroomhead and I got to sing on stage with Korn.

“Sometimes in life, people are quick to forget the good and the bad,” states Reavis. “We all need to be reminded from time to time where the line in the sand is truly drawn.”

Formed in 2016 in Cleveland, OH, A Killer’s Confession (AKC) is led by vocalist Waylon Reavis and consists of Morgan Bauer (drums), JP Cross (bass), and Tommy Church (guitar).

The debut album from AKC Unbroken was released on May 12th, 2017, via EMP Group, the label founded by Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson. The first single, “A Killer’s Confession,”featured Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch. After the contract term ended with EMP Group, the band self-released their next three singles (“Angel On The Outside,” “I Wish,” and “Reanimated”) all to critical and commercial acclaim, racking up over 2 million cumulative streams on Spotify.

In 2019, Pepper Gomez, the founder and CEO of Chicago and Miami based Wake Up! Music Group signed A Killers Confession.  The bands critically acclaimed sophomore album The Indifference Of Good Men was produced by Sahaj Ticotin (vocalist for Ra) in Los Angeles, CA. It included the single “Numb,” along with the previously released singles “I Wish,” “Reanimated,” and “Angel On The Outside.”  The band is managed by Jeromy Jerome for FM Music Management.
